{Somerset Gallery Winter 2010}

I found out yesterday from my friend Jan D. that we had been published on the same page in the Somerset Gallery Winter 2010 edition...woo hoo!!! I had sent the "Hogwarts" Gothic Arch over 2 years ago for consideration. Jan has the beautiful pieces using Paper Whimsy images on the page. I met her in September when the Paper Whimsy PJammer's group came to Ann Arbor!

My "Queen Arch" was sent in August 2008 and is a collaboration with artist friend Daniel R. Boone. Daniel sent a piece of his gorgeous tinwork that I added to an arch for embellishment. What a thrill to have two art pieces that are shared with art friends that I know! :)

{Prodigious & Fanciful Holiday Faerie Slipper Exchange}

I signed up for the "Prodigious & Fanciful Holiday Faerie Slipper Exchange" at Paper Whimsy and made these sweet little slippers for my swap partners. I selected the Wonderland Faerie group and we were to use - Pale blues/Silver/White as our color combinations. There were so many wonderful color groups to pick from it was hard to choose! :)

I used cardstock, pattern paper (good old K & Company), machine stitched the heels with silver metallic thread, embossed the edges of the mule part with silver, added "bridal appliques" by hand stitching to the front of the slipper, attached a silver heart charm, white paper doilies, Paper Whimsy images, wings that have snow glitter, and a white ribbon so they slipper can be hung. Now I will recieve 4 slippers from the wonderful ladies at Paper Whimsy who are also in my group. A winter wonderland of whimsical faeries! :)

{Stars Gothic Arch}

This weeks theme at Gothic Arches is "Stars". I used silver tinsel along the edges of my arch (hot glue gun and large tweezers help with pushing it down so your fingers don't get burned) and vellum punched stars that have sparkles added. Not in a creative mode this weekend as we wait for news on a house we bid on...hope this soon will pass! Happy Sunday everyone! :)

{Tale of Grace Wooden Gothic Arch}

A double sided wooden gothic arch I created using a block that hubby cut out. Painted and lace trim added to the sides, pattern papers, stamping, collage images (Paper Whimsy), wooden spools at bottom, bling and buttons. Lyrics from a song by Norah Jones on one side. Happy Tuesday! :)
